ABOUT ME

I am Czech Roma living in the UK since 2007. I have a passion to share my heritage and expertise on Roma culture and contemporary issues. My journey in delivering Roma awareness sessions officially started 2021 when I received my BA in Politics and Sociology at University of Sheffield. Currently, I am employed by University of Sheffield where I work as a Research Associate across the departments of Sociology, Politics and Public Health. My education and years of experience in community development have helped me to gain deeper understanding of policymaking processes and their impact on the Roma community and similar minority groups. Over the last 10 years, I have been involved in several projects led by government and non-government organisations (ONS, Roma Support Group, Clifton Learning Partnership and Migration Yorkshire or Law for Life etc.) to tackle Roma inequalities and to be a Roma voice in places of influence and decision making.

I believe that my training will help you improve your Roma engagement skills, break down barriers, and foster more inclusive outcomes.

My latest publications:

MY TRAINING INCLUDES:

  • Roma History
  • Roma Culture & Life Style

  • Contemporary Challenges

  • Tips and Advice on Roma engagement

My main focus is on Eastern European Roma, but I use statistics that include Roma across most  European countries. I can tailor the training to client's request. I hold enhanced DBS certificate

Joanne the Family solicitor: " I was heartbroken to hear about the tragic Roma history, we just don't understand what this community went through. We need to educate ourselves before we can help."

Jeff from NHS: " Well done Olga, your presentation was eye-opening. I just wish we have had more time to discuss the issues. All the best!"

Anonym from Sheffield community Centre: " I found the history of Roma people the most interesting and the way they continue to be treated today. It explains a lot. Btw, I was surprised to learn about the number of Roma in the world" …
